CTIA: Day 1 Keynote - Closed is better than open.
In contrast to Dotson, Sprint CE0 makes the great point that openness is only as important as the consumer demand for it, but everone in the audience cheered when asked if they would like open networks and open handsets. Verizon CEO Lowell McAdam also seemed hesitant to be pro-open, which makes sense considering the Verizon/BREW/Qualcomm [...]
